Highland Park's off-leash area (designation HPK-001) sits in one of Calgary's older northwest communities, established back in 1946. It's tucked along the edge of the neighbourhood near Greenview Industrial Park, not far from Thorncliffe and Skyline West.
This is a neighbourhood-scale site rather than a destination park — there's no large fenced enclosure or sprawling trail network here, just a close-to-home spot for Highland Park residents to let their dogs stretch their legs. The Highland Park Community Association is active locally, running community events out of the Highland Park Community Centre nearby.
If you're coming from further away, it's a reasonable stop on the way to or from Nose Hill Park, one of Calgary's largest off-leash destinations, a short drive to the northwest.
