Two are fundraiser walks, one at North Glenmore Park and one at River Park.

When Are the September 2026 Dog Events in Calgary?
Three events are confirmed so far this September.
The 5K Bark-A-Thon runs September 12 at North Glenmore Park.
ARF's Walk n' Wag runs September 19 at River Park, and Dos Leches Volume 11 runs the same day at The Confluence.
Two directly support dog rescue groups, and all three welcome leashed dogs.
5K Bark-A-Thon at North Glenmore Park
The 3rd Annual 5K Bark-A-Thon runs Saturday, September 12, 2026, at North Glenmore Park.
It is a timed 5K or 10K run or walk, open to dogs alongside their owners.
Every registration supports Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation, a Calgary charity that rescues dogs and cats.
The rescue then places those animals with new families.
The race is followed by an on-site festival with food, live music, and raffle prizes.
Plan to stick around after you cross the finish line.
Registration is required and fees apply, since this is a fundraising race, not a free community walk.

ARF's Walk n' Wag at River Park
ARF's Walk n' Wag is set for Saturday, September 19, 2026, at River Park.
It starts at 11 in the morning.
This is the Animal Rescue Foundation's signature fundraising walk.
It follows a scenic 2.5-kilometre loop through the park.
After the walk, organizers run a full afternoon of pet photos, games, contests, shopping, and raffle prizes.
It is a low-key, dog-friendly event that suits sociable dogs comfortable around crowds.

Proceeds go directly toward ARF's animal rescue and rehabilitation work across Alberta.
Dos Leches Volume 11 at The Confluence
Dos Leches closes out its 2026 season with Volume 11 on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
It runs from 3 in the afternoon until 10 at night.
The venue is The Confluence Historic Site and Parkland, the riverside site formerly known as Fort Calgary.
This one is not a dog-specific event.
It is a free, all-ages outdoor concert with local DJs, food trucks, and plenty of open grass for a blanket.
It draws a bigger, later crowd than the two morning fundraisers.
Because of that, it suits confident dogs who are comfortable around music and a packed lawn.
There is no ticket price and no registration required.
It makes an easy add-on if you are already out with your dog that Saturday.
Is My Dog Allowed at These Park Events?
Yes, all three events welcome leashed dogs.
None of them take place inside a fenced off-leash zone, though.
That means Calgary's normal leash rules still apply to the parts of the park hosting the event.
Under the City of Calgary's Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw, leashes must be no longer than two metres outside designated off-leash areas.
Bring a standard leash rather than a long line.
